If Not This, then What? If Not Now, then When? If Not Us, then Who?
Yesterday, a group of our Mass Transit Now volunteers headed to the UW campus to hear two dynamic speakers: Fred Hansen, General Manager of TriMet in Portland and Clive Rock, former Strategic Planning Director for TransLink in Vancouver. They shared stories of how light rail had fundamentally changed their regions, and reiterated what we already know – that it’s transportation choices that people want.
Clive ended his slide show with three questions, which he posed to the group:
If not this, then what?
If not now, then when?
If not you, then who?
This speaks to the core of our Mass Transit Now campaign, because this is the RIGHT transit package, the time is NOW, and we need YOUR help!
For the price of one tank of gas, residents of the Puget Sound region can get immediate relief from high gridlock and high gas prices, reduce climate pollution, create tens of thousands of jobs, and overall improve our quality of life!
